Yesterday, on March 19, 2008, the science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke died. He will always be remembered for his work on 2001: A Space Odyssey, but also as the inventor avant-la-lettre of the communications satellite. I specifically admired his notion of venturing past the limits of the possible into the impossible.

Provoking Human Technology

On Tuesday, March 4, 2008, Ianus Keller gave a two hour lecture about Trends in Interfaces at the Human Technology Master study of the Haagse Hogeschool. On Thursday, November 29, 2007, For Inspiration Only and fieldOfView presented our improved and interactive version of the Panamorphosis Table at the Innovation Playground 2007. The table itself worked surprisingly well and appealed to a wide audience from all ages and backgrounds.

Touching the iPhone

Through a friend living in the USA, I was able to temporarily get my hands on an iPhone. Though I could not use the phone capabilities, merely the music, photo and web applications were sufficient to win me over. I would love to build a tiny Cabinet for this little fellow.

Windows Vista Launch

Today Microsoft officially launched its new operating system Windows Vista. In the Netherlands this launch is supported by an impressive press tour by Microsoft’s Design Director Tjeerd Hoek, with whom Ianus Keller worked on the 2003 Microsoft Research Design Expo.
